Payment Processing

Client

The client is a jewellery brand selling handcrafted silver and gold pieces with a distinctive ethnic design language. The project covered a full-featured online store with catalogue management, multilingual content, discounts, international online payment integration, international delivery options, and order processing.

The critical requirement was integration: the WooCommerce store, the client's ERP, and the CRM needed to exchange product, pricing, order, customer, and delivery data consistently.

Key Highlights

1

WooCommerce storefront integrated with the client's ERP and CRM.

2

Automated data exchange of product and order data across the connected commerce systems.

3

Multilingual catalogue, discount logic, and international delivery requirements.

4

Custom line-item discount allocation to reconcile cart-level discounts with a CRM that has no dedicated order-level discount field.

5

International online payments integrated into the WooCommerce checkout.

6

International delivery configuration supporting the client's cross-border order fulfilment requirements.

Challenge

The hard part was not rendering the storefront; it was reconciling business data across three connected systems. Prices, discount types and values, order totals, delivery data, customer records, and product information had to remain consistent as orders moved from WooCommerce into the ERP and CRM.

  • Map one commerce transaction across systems. Align WooCommerce, ERP, and CRM data models for a single transaction.
  • Handle cart-level discounts. The CRM only supports discounts at line-item level.
  • Support international commerce. The store needed to support international online payments and delivery while keeping multilingual catalogue and checkout settings manageable.
  • Test cross-system calculations. The same order totals had to be represented consistently in each system.

Solution

We kept WooCommerce as the commerce layer and added the custom integration and calculation logic required by the client's back-office systems.

  • WooCommerce store. Catalogue, order processing, multilingual content, discounts, and delivery configuration.
  • ERP integration. Synchronization of stock, pricing, product master data, and the order information required by the back office.
  • CRM integration. Customer records, order history, sales-related data, and line-item discount values.
  • International payment integration. Integrated an international online payment system into the WooCommerce checkout to support online orders from international customers.
  • International delivery. Configured international delivery options and order-processing logic for cross-border fulfilment.
  • Custom discount decomposition. Cart-level discounts are distributed across products before the order is transferred so totals reconcile in systems that do not support an order-level discount field.
  • Maintainable administration. Everyday content is editable by the client, while sensitive configuration areas are documented as developer-managed.

Process

The process centered on data mapping and reconciliation between systems rather than treating the project as a standard WooCommerce setup.

  1. Discovery and design. Ran discovery, business analysis, and design to define the catalogue and operational requirements.
  2. Project and catalogue setup. Set up the project and WooCommerce product/catalogue structure.
  3. Cross-system data mapping. Mapped product, price, customer, order, discount, and delivery data between WooCommerce, ERP, and CRM.
  4. Custom logic implementation. Implemented the custom discount-allocation and order-calculation logic required for cross-system consistency.
  5. Configuration and testing. Configured multilingual commerce, international payment and delivery requirements, then tested the full data exchange, checkout flow, and calculated totals across systems.
  6. Deployment and handover. Deployed the store, stabilized the production setup, and handed over admin-panel guidance for day-to-day content work.

Result

The delivered store connects the customer-facing commerce experience with the client's existing back-office systems.

  • Store launched with integrations tested. The e-commerce website was launched with ERP and CRM integrations configured and tested.
  • Connected data flow. Product and order data can move through the connected systems using the implemented mappings rather than being maintained as isolated records.
  • International checkout. The store supports international online payments and delivery as part of the customer checkout flow.
  • Reconciled discount logic. Custom discount logic reconciles cart-level promotions with the CRM's line-item data model.
  • Administration guide. The client received an administration guide for everyday content management and for areas that require developer involvement.
