Client
Ivory is a premium wedding fashion brand specializing in luxury bridal gowns. In this segment, the online experience has to carry the same sense of craft and refinement as the dresses themselves — the website is often a bride's first encounter with the brand, and it needs to feel as considered and immersive as visiting the atelier in person.
Key Highlights
3 languages (Ukrainian, English, Romanian) managed from a single content model.
4 self-managed content types — collections, portfolio, blog, and cooperation pages — editable without a developer.
1 unified codebase delivering the full animated experience across all screen sizes.
~4-month research-to-launch delivery
Challenge
Luxury bridal is a category sold on emotion. A bride considering a premium gown expects the brand's digital presence to feel as elevated as the product — immersive, tactile, and beautifully paced. For Ivory, an ordinary catalog site simply wouldn't convey that; the experience itself is part of the brand's value.
The challenge was to create a genuinely immersive, animation-rich website — without letting that richness slow the site down or break across devices. It came down to three tensions to resolve:
- Immersion vs. performance. Animated page transitions and interactions are what make the experience feel premium — but done naively, they cause janky, slow rendering, especially on mobile.
- A multi-page journey to hold together. Collections, portfolio, blog, and cooperation pages each needed their own treatment while staying part of one coherent, on-brand flow.
- Content that had to stay in the brand's hands. Collections and editorial content change often, so the team needed to manage everything without a developer — across three languages.
On top of that, the site had to stay fully responsive across every screen size, since a large share of the audience browses on phones.
Solution
We built a custom multi-page website on Nuxt.js and Vue.js, with a Laravel backend and our own Zentara CMS — each choice made to serve immersion and performance at the same time:
- Nuxt.js, not a plain single-page app. Nuxt's server-side rendering gives fast first paint and strong SEO — essential for a brand that needs to be discovered — while Vue drives the smooth client-side interactions once the page loads. A pure SPA would have sacrificed the first, a static site the second.
- GSAP for animation, tuned rather than stripped back. Instead of removing effects to chase speed, we implemented animated page transitions with GSAP and paired them with optimized asset loading, so the experience stays cinematic and the rendering stays smooth.
- Our own Zentara CMS, not a rigid off-the-shelf one. Zentara let us shape content management around exactly what Ivory needed — collections, portfolio, blog, and cooperation pages, in three languages — and hand the brand full, developer-free control over it.
- A responsive-first build. Every layout was optimized for all screen sizes, so the premium feel holds from desktop to mobile.
Process
- Content architecture first. Before building screens, we modeled the content types in Zentara — collections, portfolio, blog, cooperation — and structured them so a single entry drives all three language versions, keeping Ukrainian, English, and Romanian in sync without duplicated work for editors.
- Design & motion language. In Figma, we defined not just how each section looks but how it moves — the pacing of transitions and interactions that gives the site its atelier-like feel.
- The Nuxt + GSAP integration — the real technical crux. GSAP runs in the browser, while Nuxt renders pages on the server, so animations can't simply run on load without causing flashes or hydration mismatches. We scoped the animation logic to the client side and initialized transitions only after the page hydrated, so motion starts cleanly instead of fighting the server-rendered markup.
- Performance tuning for heavy imagery. Bridal photography is asset-heavy, so we optimized and lazy-loaded assets to keep even the most animation-rich pages responsive.
- Cross-device validation. We tested transitions and layouts across breakpoints and devices, tuning animation behavior so it stays smooth on mobile, not just on desktop.
Result
- The brand's digital experience now matches its product. Instead of a standard catalog, Ivory has an immersive, cinematic site that conveys the same craft and refinement as the gowns — the outcome the whole project was built around.
- The team is fully self-sufficient. Ivory manages every collection, portfolio piece, blog post, and cooperation page itself, across all three languages, with no developer in the loop.
- The premium experience holds everywhere. The animated interface stays coherent and responsive from large desktop screens down to phones, where much of the audience browses.
- A foundation ready to grow. New collections and content slot into the existing CMS structure without redesign or redevelopment.
