Client
Strans is an automotive supplier specializing in spare parts, accessories, and components for trucks, buses, and special equipment.
As part of its expansion into batteries and power systems, the company launched Ce-AKB — a dedicated e-commerce direction focused on automotive batteries, home power solutions, and energy-storage products.
Unlike a general automotive catalog, battery selection depends on multiple technical parameters, including capacity, cold cranking amps, voltage, terminal layout, dimensions, and vehicle compatibility. The new platform therefore needed to make a technically complex product catalog easy to search and navigate for retail customers.
Key Highlights
12,000+ SKUs supported within a technically complex automotive catalog.
Multi-parameter product filtering by capacity, cold cranking amps, voltage, terminal placement, dimensions, and vehicle characteristics.
TecDoc integration used to support vehicle-based product lookup.
Zentara, ZentixSoft's Laravel-based admin system, used to manage product attributes, inventory, orders, and catalog operations.
Vue 3 interactive components provide responsive filtering and catalog interactions without unnecessary full-page reloads.
96/100 Google PageSpeed Best Practices score recorded during project testing.
Challenge
The core challenge was not simply building another online store, but structuring a large technical catalog so customers could identify suitable batteries without navigating thousands of products manually.
The platform had to address several requirements simultaneously:
- Manage 12,000+ products with detailed technical attributes.
- Support numerous combinations of battery parameters.
- Connect vehicle information with relevant catalog products.
- Keep search and filtering responsive, particularly on mobile devices.
- Provide structured administration of technical product data.
- Integrate an external automotive-data source without making the storefront overly dependent on third-party API response times.
Generic e-commerce setups would have required substantial customization to support this combination of structured automotive data, compatibility lookup, and interactive filtering.
Solution
We built Ce-AKB around a Laravel-based e-commerce core with Zentara for catalog administration and Vue 3 components for the interactive parts of the storefront.
Rather than separating the site into a fully headless frontend, the architecture uses Laravel Blade with Vue 3 islands: server-rendered pages provide the core storefront, while Vue components handle interactive areas such as filters, search, cart behavior, and vehicle-selection tools.
The solution included:
- TecDoc vehicle lookup. Integration with TecAlliance data to help users narrow battery options using vehicle specifications, engine information, and OEM-related data.
- Zentara administrative hub. Centralized management of technical SKU attributes, stock, catalog information, and e-commerce orders.
- Advanced battery filtering. Filters for capacity, cold cranking amps, voltage, dimensions, terminal configuration, and related product parameters.
- Backend caching layer. Frequently required TecDoc-related data can be processed and cached through the backend, reducing unnecessary dependency on repeated third-party requests.
- Vue 3 interactive components. Responsive catalog filtering and other dynamic storefront interactions integrated into Laravel Blade pages.
Process
We structured development around the product catalog and vehicle-data model first, because search quality depended on correctly organizing technical information before building the storefront interactions.
- Requirements & catalog modeling. We mapped the battery-selection journey and structured product attributes such as capacity, cold cranking amps, terminal placement, voltage, and dimensions.
- Zentara & backend configuration. We configured the Laravel-based Zentara administration layer for catalog management, inventory, and e-commerce workflows.
- TecDoc integration. We connected TecDoc data through backend APIs and introduced data mapping and caching mechanisms for vehicle-related lookups.
- Frontend development. We built the storefront with Laravel Blade, Vue 3, TypeScript, Vite, and SCSS, using interactive Vue components where dynamic filtering and user interaction were required.
- Testing & launch. We tested the platform across devices, optimized catalog interactions and frontend performance, and launched the production e-commerce store.
Result
The result is a production e-commerce platform that turns a large technical battery catalog into a structured, searchable buying experience.
- Customers can navigate 12,000+ SKUs using technical product parameters and vehicle-related lookup data.
- Interactive filters make it possible to narrow large product sets without manually browsing the full catalog.
- TecDoc provides an external automotive-data foundation for vehicle-based product selection.
- Zentara gives the client one administrative environment for managing product attributes, inventory, catalog data, and orders.
- The caching and data-mapping layer reduces the storefront's direct dependence on repeated external API requests.
- The platform was delivered in approximately 4 months.
